IntegrArte was a new participatory arts project that I initiated in 2014 with the Maule Regional Theater, which aimed to enhance social inclusion by facilitating creative expression in vulnerable contexts. I spearheaded a team of four socially engaged arts practitioners to develop diverse Expressive Encounters: Radio Theater with incarcerated people in a center for social reintegration; Rhythmic Theater with disabled people from a disadvantaged urban area; Foto-Performance with the elderly people in a charitable care home; and Creative Writing with women who had experienced domestic violence. Each semester culminated with a multidisciplinary presentation of the artwork created by the participants, representing the reality of their social contexts and inviting the public to reflect on the multiple identities of Talca, Chile.
