Sarah Ashford Hart

In 2012, in I led CompArte Teatro, a project for at-risk young people in Santa Rosa, Santiago de Chile. With the assistance of theater students from UNIACC University, I facilitated the development of participants’ IT skills through theater-based activities. During 3-months of weekly workshops, we collectively created a video expressing the community’s identity in images and drawings. Simultaneously, we engaged in online correspondence with ARROWSA, a youth theater group in Durban, South Africa, to exchange our world-views.

This project was part of the CompArte initiative of Fundación America, which incorporated diverse art forms to encourage IT skills development, utilising a shipping container equipped with computers at the Santa Rosa community center.
